Our Commitment To Safeguarding

At Rockhopper Children's Services, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children and young people can thrive, free from harm and fear.

How We Safeguard Children

  • Dedicated Safeguarding Team – Our trained safeguarding leads oversee all aspects of child protection, ensuring swift and effective responses to concerns.
  • Group Head of Safeguarding – Leading our safeguarding efforts, our Head of Safeguarding ensures all policies and protections are upheld.
  • Robust Policies & Procedures – We adhere to national safeguarding standards and continuously review our policies to maintain best practices.
  • Staff Training & Development – All staff undergo regular safeguarding training to stay informed on the latest guidance and best practices.
  • Safeguarding Committee – A dedicated committee oversees all safeguarding matters across our services, ensuring concerns are appropriately addressed, lessons are learned, and best practices are shared. The committee is chaired by the Group Safeguarding Lead and supports the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Regular Safeguarding Audits – Comprehensive safeguarding audits are carried out regularly across all our homes to maintain high standards and accountability.
  • Partnerships & Collaboration – We work closely with local authorities, social services, and safeguarding organisations to ensure comprehensive protection.
  • Governance & Oversight – The Safeguarding Lead reports directly to the Safeguarding Committee, a subcommittee of the Board of Directors. The safeguarding Committee reviews all safeguarding matters, as well as trends and will issue requirements or recommendations in respect of any concerns. The Committee meets monthly and reports to the Board at each Board meeting.
