Help young people feel safe, supported and cared for through the night.

At Dovedale House Children's Home, every night is an opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

We're looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated Bank Waking Night Children's Care Workers to join our team. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work around existing commitments whilst helping to ensure children feel safe, secure and supported throughout the night.

Working with children and young people aged 9-17 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment overnight.

You'll be more than a night worker. You'll be a trusted adult, providing reassurance, support and stability when children need it most.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing overnight supervision and support within a safe and nurturing home environment
• Supporting children and young people with evening, nighttime and morning routines
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
• Promoting children's emotional wellbeing and responding appropriately to their needs during the night
• Carrying out health, safety and security checks throughout the home
• Completing accurate records and handovers
• Helping maintain a clean, welcoming and organised environment
• Working as part of a team to provide consistent, child-centred care
• Supporting children to develop confidence, independence and life skills

• Experience working with children and young people with complex needs and/or mental health needs
• A caring, empathetic and child-centred approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Resilience, patience and a positive attitude
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people
• Flexibility to work waking night shifts, including weekends
